Photographer’s Notes
I rounded a corner in our harbor yesterday and startled a green heron, which flew up onto the top of a nearby boat. This bird usually looks short and squat, with most of its neck folded tightly against its body. Apparently, its neck can stretch to nearly the length of its body, making it look surprisingly different.
